Crystal Beach and Indian Bluff Island carry bayfront streets and waterfront homes with an Old Florida feel along the sound.
Innisbrook and the golf communities carry gated entries, community common areas and homes set on generous lots with heavy tree cover. Lighting there often involves the entry feature as much as the individual houses.
Ozona is a small old village on the water — low buildings, narrow lanes, a marina, and an unpolished character that most of the county lost decades ago. It does not want the same treatment as a gated golf street.
East Lake and Lansbrook run newer construction on larger lots with pine and oak cover, and enough separation between houses that each display stands on its own rather than blending into a row.
