Harbor Bluffs runs along the high ground above Clearwater Harbor on the west edge of Largo, with waterfront lots, docks, and houses set up on the bluff looking across toward the barrier islands.

Inland, most of Largo is established single-family streets — ranch homes, mature oaks and palms, and yards that have had decades to fill in.

Downtown Largo and the blocks around it carry a mix of older homes and newer infill, sometimes side by side.

What works here

Single-story homes and old trees.

A single-story ranch has a low, long roofline that reads well from the street and lights cleanly. The work is in the evenness — straight runs, consistent spacing, corners that actually meet.

On most of these lots the mature trees carry more of the display than the house does. Lighting the oaks and palms and letting the roofline support them usually looks better than the reverse.
